Welcome to, Love Your Allergies!

When I was tested for allergies, I was devastated by the results- 33 items were positive for food and environmental allergies. Most shocking was that almost all of the food allergies were things that I loved and ate regularly. They were the ingredients for my comfort foods such as peanuts, almonds, hazelnuts, apples, wheat, and soy, to name a few.

I immediately started to mourn all the delicious foods I'd have to give up. I love Asian cuisine. Eating an apple a day was one of the first lessons I was taught for healthy eating. Curling up on the couch with a spoonful of peanut butter was my idea of a fun Friday night! Nutella. 'Nuf said. And as a vegetarian, I floundered trying to recover from the blow as most of the foods I ate contained soy or wheat-based proteins or ingredients. 

 After my pity party, I bucked up and decided to research what I could eat instead. Suddenly, a new world opened before my eyes as I tried new and unfamiliar foods and brands, breaking free from the rut. Itchiness and tissues became a thing of the past. Instead of missing the things I could not eat, I loved the food-journey my allergies had taken me on.

And now, I want to share my experiences with you, my vegetarian and allergic friends! I hope my site will inspire you, encourage you, excite your taste buds, make it easy to find what you love, and give you the freedom to Love Your Allergies!
